Just 20 minutes down the road from Mount Holyoke, the MGM Springfield Casino has officially opened its doors to the public after years of construction. Despite controversy over the $960 million project, the casino now sits in the heart of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts at moderate-level risk for West Nile Virus

The state-wide risk level for West Nile Virus (WNV) was raised from low to moderate by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on Aug. 21 following the discovery of multiple WNV positive mosquito samples. WNV is a viral infection that is spread from mosquitoes to humans or animals. The virus cannot be transmitted between humans.

Cochary Pub & Kitchen and Grab 'n Go open in Blanchard Hall

The Cochary Pub & Kitchen opened on Monday on the first floor of Blanchard Hall. The space, with cozy groupings of brown chairs and a variety of locally sourced organic food, welcomed students back to campus for the fall semester.
